Choosing the Right Granite…
A memorial is only as permanent and lastingly beautiful as the material from which it is made. Many materials look – and are sold as – permanent. To late the buyer finds weather and chemicals in the air have stained, cracked or checked the monument beyond repair. Passage of time and experience offer an abundance of evidence that a good granite will outlast any other type of stone or metal alloy.
Look for granite quarried and cut on headgrain – Granite, as with many natural materials has a grain. It is easier and less expensive to quarry if the quarrier is unconcerned with the flow of the grain. But, when granite is more painstakingly cut against the headgrain, it later yields with exacting precision to master craftsman’s touch. Lettering is sharper, clearer, carved symbolic ornamentations are more lifelike. Polished surfaces reflect as a mirror.
Our granite is quarried from the most prestigious premium quarries in this country and many others. We have always issued “The Standard of Excellence” to every purchaser of our exquisite memorials and offered and stand by the Leyda, Burrus & Metz permanent guarantee.
